Goals of Homeschool Extras:

  1. Creative & Messy Classes: We provide opportunities for kids to dive into hands-on, messy activities that thrive in a group setting.
  2. Parental Break: We offer parents a well-deserved break by providing drop-off classes.
  3. Mixed-Age Learning: All ages are included in the same lesson. I will go more in depth with the older students and expect more of them.
  4. Support & Accountability: We offer guidance, encouragement, and a supportive environment for both kids and parents.
  5. Social Growth: Our program fosters character development as kids interact and socialize with peers of various ages.
  6. Diverse Learning: Kids benefit from learning under different teachers, providing fresh perspectives and teaching styles.
  7. Traditional School Experiences: Our classes allow kids to participate in activities and events similar to those offered in traditional schools.
  8. Fun Away from Home: Our classes offer a delightful break from the home routine.
  9. Family Inclusion: My own kids will be participating and benefiting from these classes as well.

Note: All classes are drop-off due to space constraints, though parent attendance can be arranged upon request. If you would like to see the classroom before classes begin, please feel free to schedule a visit!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are the classes held?

A: Starting in Session 4 this year, we will be having classes at Abiding Love Church, located at 3205 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral, FL 33914.

Q: Can I stay with my children, or do I drop them off?

A: You can drop them off, or you can stay with them.

Q: What type of classes do you offer?

A: We offer a variety of classes specifically designed for homeschool families. Our classes are structured to accommodate a larger number of participants, often more than the typical homeschool family size. We meet weekly to engage in learning and practice sessions. Some classes give students the opportunity to showcase their skills in a recital or performance, which parents, grandparents, and close friends are invited to attend.

Q: What about Physical Education classes?

A: PE on Wednesdays is a FREE get together at a local park. Parents are required to stay with their kids. Katie and Ryan will lead the activity, and parents can watch or join in!

Q: Do your classes qualify for reimbursement under Florida’s School Choice?

A: Yes! We are proud to be listed as a provider on Step Up’s EMA marketplace for PEP and FES-UA.

If you are not registered under the PEP program, you can find more information on our Florida PEP page.

Q: Where will the recitals and performances be held?

A: Abiding Love Lutheran Church

3205 Chiquita Blvd S.
Cape Coral, FL 33914

Q: How many students will be in each class?

A: We try to limit our classes to 16 children. Piano we try to keep under 8.

Starting in Session 4, since we have additional space, our class sizes can be a little bigger, but since we will have multiple options at the same time, we think class sizes can stay reasonable.

Q: Are your classes religious?

A: We are Christian and have a Biblical worldview that will come out in some of our classes. Although we are renting a space at our church, our church is not associated with our classes.

Q: Can my child stay for multiple classes in a row?

A: Absolutely! We will even have a Full-Day option starting in Session 4. If you are not interested in the Full-Day option for your child, pick one or more classes that you want them to attend.

Full-Day students will bring a lunch to have from 11:45 – 12:30. A snack break for afternoon students will be at 2:45.

Q: How many sessions will you have each year?

A: We plan on having 4 sessions that are 8 weeks long each. There will be a one or two week break in between sessions in case there needs to be a make-up week.

Q: When will the next session be available?

A: Once one session starts, we will update our web page with the next session’s classes and information. Join our newsletter to be informed about new classes.

Q: Are there any other classes you are thinking about offering?

A: If you have other classes you would like to see, contact us and send us your suggestions.
